Enamel

Enamel brings luminous colour to precious metal. Finely ground glass is applied by hand to prepared 925 silver and fired in a kiln, often repeatedly, until the desired depth of colour and surface are achieved. Every layer requires preparation, controlled heating, cooling and finishing. A small object can therefore involve many hours of skilled work.

This collection includes wearable enamel jewellery and small decorative objects made in Helsinki by master goldsmith Pia-Mari Jull. Subtle variations in colour and surface are part of the process and make each piece individual. More enamel work will be added as the collection develops.
